Chairman Odell
Newburn presided.
ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF
$2,000.00 BETWEEN VARIOUS ACCOUNTS IN
THE BUREAU OF POLICE, ALL ACCOUNTS BEING
WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND, CITY OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA.
This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above ordinance, proponents and
opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Police Chief John Walsh made the presentation
for the ordinance. He indicated that the city prisoners have been provided meals out of the
Sheriff's Department, and he had been informed that the county would no longer provide meals for
the city's prisoners. As of October 1, the city has been mandated to provide the meals. Because
of this, a transfer was needed at this time; and the budget for 1976 would not include funds for
this purpose so some arrangements would have to be made in 1976 to cover the cost involved.
