South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting -July 18, 2008 <br />3. APPROVAL OF CLAIMS (CONT.) <br />Upon a motion by Dr. Varner, seconded by Mr. Blake <br />and unanimously carried, the Commission approved the <br />Claims submitted July 18, 2008, and ordered checks to <br />be released. <br />4. COMMUNICATIONS <br />Mr. Inks noted that a Communication from Linda <br />Rogers of the Golf Course Owners Assn was directed to <br />Greg Downes as chairman of the Chamber of <br />Commerce, but copied to the Commission indicating the <br />position of the owners association that the city was <br />competing unfairly with private business by subsidizing <br />its golf course(s), etc. The letter from Ms. Rogers and a <br />position paper by the Board of Directors of the Golf <br />Club Owners Association follows: <br />July 15, 2008 <br />Mr. Gregory S. Also, I see that you are a <br />member of The South Bend Redevelopment Commission. <br />I am sure that both positions require a great deal of <br />time. <br />Having just renewed my Chamber memberships for both <br />my businesses, I appreciate your thank you letter.
