Parent <br />presiding. The meeting was called to order and the Pledge to the Flag was given. <br />ROLL CALL PRESENT: Councilmen Serge, Szymkowiak, <br />Miller, Taylor, Kopczynski, <br />Horvath, Nemeth, Newburn and <br />Parent. <br />ABSENT: None. <br />Councilman Kopczynski made a motion to resolve into the Committee of the Whole, seconded by <br />Councilman Taylor. The motion carried. <br />COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in the Committee of the <br />Whole on Tuesday, May 27, 1975, at 7:26 p.m., with nine members present. Chairman Odell Newburn <br />presided. He welcomed Girl Scout Troop 1301 to the Council meeting. <br />ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FIXING MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM <br />SALARIES AND WAGES OF APPOINTED OFFICERS <br />AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN <br />RESOURCES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR <br />THE YEAR OF 1975. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above ordinance, proponents and <br />opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. The ordinance had previously been scheduled for <br />public hearing on April 21, 1975, at which time a few comments had been made. It had then been <br />continued to the May 27th meeting of the Council. Mr. William Hojnacki, Director of the Department <br />of Human Resources and Economic Development, made the presentation for the ordinance. He briefly' <br />summarized his presentation of April 21, stating that the ordinance represented all of the positio <br />that are currently within the jurisdiction of the Human Resources Department and which positions <br />were not included in the original salary ordinance passed for 1975.
