Paren <br />presiding. The meeting was called to order and the Pledge to the Flag was.given. <br />ROLL CALL PiZESENT: Councilmen Serge, Szymkowiak, <br />Miller, Taylor, Kopczynski, <br />Horvath, Nemeth, Newburn and <br />Parent. <br />ABSENT: None. <br />Councilman Horvath made a motion to resolve into the Committee of the Whole, seconded by <br />Councilman Taylor. The motion carried. <br />COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in the Ccmmittee of the <br />Whole on Monday, March...'24, 1975, at 7:02 p.m., with nine members present. Chairman Odell Newburn <br />presided. He explained the procedure pertaining to the public hearing portion and Council portion <br />of the meeting. He asked that everyone speaking refrain from using personalities in their presen- <br />tations. <br />ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $132,000 FROM <br />THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COMMONLY <br />REFERRED TO AC GENERAL REVENUE SHARING,. <br />FOR VARIOUS HUMAN RESOURCE PROGRAMS, TO <br />BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above ordinance, proponents and �I <br />opponents were given an opportunity Lo be heard. Mr. William Hojnacki, Director of the Department)J <br />of Human Resources and Economic Development, wade the presentation for the ordinance. He explained$ <br />that the funds would be used for the acquisition of property at 622 North Michigan Street for a <br />centralized senior citizens' center which would be operated by REAL Services, Inc.
