<br />ORDINANCE NO. 5790 -75
<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $2,367.00 FROM
<br />THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT FUND, COMMONLY
<br />REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, FOR
<br />THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PARKS, TO BE
<br />ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND
<br />THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PARKS.
<br />This ordinance had second reading. Councilman Serge made a motion to pass the ordinance, seconded
<br />by Councilman Kopczynski. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes (Councilmen Serge
<br />Szymkowiak, Miller, Parent, Taylor, Kopczynski, Horvath, Newburn and Nemeth).

<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $10,200.00 FROM
<br />THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COMMONLY
<br />REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING,
<br />FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC PARKS PROGRAMS, TO BE
<br />ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND
<br />THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PARKS.
<br />This ordinance had second reading. Councilman Taylor made a motion to pass the ordinance, secondec
<br />by Councilman Szymkowiak. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes (Councilmen Serge
<br />Szymkowiak, Miller, Parent, Taylor, Kopczynski, Horvath, Newburn and Nemeth).
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 5792 -75 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $390,000.00
<br />FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT FUND,
<br />COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE
<br />SHARING, FOR VARIOUS HUMAN RESOURCES
<br />PROGRAMS, TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY
<br />OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF
<br />HUMAN RESOURCES.
<br />This ordinance had second reading. Councilman Serge made a motion to pass the ordinance, seconded
<br />by Councilman Taylor. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes (Councilmen Serge,
<br />Szymkowiak, Miller, Parent, Taylor, Kopczynski, Horvath, Newburn and Nemeth). Councilman Nemeth
<br />wondered if a check should be made on the funds, and Mr. William Hojnacki, Director of the
<br />Department of Human Resources and Economic Development, indicated that there are constant inspec-
<br />tions and there was also a one -year bond requirement. He felt there would be an adequate check on
<br />the matter.
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 5793 -75
<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $47,073.00
<br />FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT COMMONLY
<br />REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING,
<br />FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAMS, TO BE
<br />ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND
<br />THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS.
<br />This ordinance had second reading. Councilman Horvath made a motion to amend the ordinance as
<br />amended in the Committee of the Whole meeting, seconded by Councilman Taylor. The motion carried.
<br />Councilman Taylor then made a motion to pass the ordinance, as amended, seconded by Councilman
<br />Serge. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes (Councilmen Serge, Szymkowiak,
<br />Miller, Parent, Taylor, Kopczynski, Horvath, Newburn and Nemeth).
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 5794 -75
<br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE
<br />MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br />INDIANA, PERTAINING TO THE EXECUTIVE
<br />BRANCH OF GOVERNMENT.
<br />This ordinance had second reading. Councilman Nemeth made a motion to amend the ordinance in the
<br />fourth line of the second paragraph by changing the word "may" to "shall" as it referred to the
<br />Safety Director serving on the Board of Public Safety, seconded by Councilman Taylor. The motion
<br />carried. Councilman Taylor then made a motion to pass the ordinance, as amended, seconded by
<br />Councilman Serge. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes (Councilmen Serge,
<br />Szymkowiak, Miller, Parent, Taylor, Kopczynski, Horvath, Newburn and Nemeth). Councilman Kopczyns]
<br />stated that his vote of "aye" in no way condoned the office of the Safety Director; however, he
<br />would vote to curtail his power.
<br />RESOLUTIONS
<br />RESOLUTION NO. 466 -75
<br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING AUTHORIZATION OF
<br />SALE OF REAL ESTATE TO THE DEPARTMENT
<br />OF REDEVELOPMENT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
<br />BEND, INDIANA.
<br />WHEREAS, the City of South Bend owns certain real estate hereinafter described
<br />which is not necessary to the public use and is no longer needed and is not set aside
<br />by the State of Indiana or the City of South Bend for public purposes; and
<br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, on the 6th day of
<br />January, 1975, adopted a resolution authorizing the sale of said real estate to the
<br />Department of Redevelopment for the sum of Eight Hundred Dollars ($800.00) pursuant
<br />to statute of the State of Indiana, being I.C. 5- 18 -1 -1 permitting the sale of said
<br />real estate within another public body co- extensive with the territory of another public
<br />body, or which one public body is a part of such other public body, and further pursuant
<br />to Chapter 30A -2 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, Indiana; and
<br />WHEREAS, appraisals have been had of said real estate by qualified appraisers
<br />and said appraisal=s are in writing and are placed of record with the Board of Public
<br />Works of the City of South Bend.
