This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage by the Common Council and its approval by the Mayor.
s/ Joseph T. Serge
Member of the Common Council
A public hearing was held at this time on the resolution. Mr. James Roemer, City Attorney,
explained that the resolution approved the sale of certain lots of real estate acquired through
substandard demolition, lien or foreclosure. He stated that the Department of Redevelopment had
offered to purchase the lots at the appraised figures, and he indicated that the lots were vacant
with no buildings standing. He stated that it was hoped a park eventually could be constructed on
the site. He stated that the Board of Public Works had approved a resolution to sell the lots for
a total of $13,400. Councilman Miller wondered if the land was purchased back from Redevelopment.
Councilman Horvath indicated that the property in question surrounded the park and was not includec
in the purchase from Redevelopment. Mrs. Marzy Bauer, Planner for the Department of Redevelopment,
stated that a quitclaim deed had been issued to the Park Department. She indicated that the
resolution was necessitated.
Councilman Parent made a motion to adopt the resolution, seconded by Councilman Taylor. Councilma
Serge talked about the number of burn -outs in certain areas. He wondered about the procedure used
if an-adjoining property owner desired to purchase one of the lots in question. Mr. Roemer stated
that a standard procedure was followed and the lots were advertised for sale. Councilman Miller
