Chapleau <br />Council President Nemeth indicated that action on the petition would be taken when the ordinance <br />pertaining to it had first reading. <br />ORDINANCES, SECOND READING <br />ORDINANCE NO. 5764 -74 <br />AN ORDINANCE ZONING A PARCEL OF LAND WITHIN <br />THE CITY LIMITS OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (George <br />F. Burnett Company). <br />This ordinance had second reading. Mr. Richard Morgan, Attorney at Law practicing at 645 First <br />Bank Building, representing the petitioner, requested that the Council amend the ordinance in the <br />zoning classification from "M" Manufacturing District and "D" Height and Area to "E" Heavy <br />Industrial District and "C" Height and Area. He explained that the ordinance as originally sub- <br />mitted contained the zoning classification for the county rather than the city. Councilman Parent <br />made a motion to so amend the ordinance, seconded by Councilman Taylor. The motion carried. <br />Councilman Taylor then made a motion that the ordinance be passed, as amended, seconded by . <br />Councilman Horvath. The ordinance passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes (Councilmen Serge, <br />Szymkowiak, Miller, Parent, Taylor, Kopczynski, Horvath, Newburn and Nemeth). <br />ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68, <br />AS AMENDED, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING <br />ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />(CHAPTER 40, MUNICIPAL CODE) - northeast <br />corner of Bendix Drive and Lathrop Street. <br />Councilman Taylor made a motion to continue the ordinance to the November 25, 1974, meeting of the <br />Council, seconded by Councilman Miller. Councilman Kopczynski suggested that, when the matter was <br />resolved, a diagram be drawn showing the buffer zone and the dimensions to the residential area to <br />the north. The motion carried. <br />
