ORDINANCE NO. ~`i b `C~ <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE, AND DESIGNATING <br />THE STRUCTURES AND REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1021 PORTAGE <br />AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, A LOCAL HISTORIC <br />LANDMARK <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br />The Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend & St. Joseph County has petitioned for the <br />designation of the following described structures and real property as an Historic Landmark, <br />pursuant to Ordinance No. 5565-73, as amended, to wit: <br />The Axtell House, built in 1905, with land and carriage house, being Lot 5 and 32 feet of <br />the Northwest side of Lot 4, North part of bank out lot Bulla & Pattons Addition, City of <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />The Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend and St. Joseph County, after due study, <br />and in agreement with its present owners, has recommended the designation of the property as an <br />Historic Landmark. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: <br />Section 1. The Axtell house, with its yard and its carriage house, is hereby, designated and <br />established as an Historic Landmark under Ordinance No. 5565-73, as amended. <br />Section 2.
