Pfeifer Abatement Procedures. <br />Second District <br /> This ordinance is proposed because: <br />Roland Kelly <br />Third District <br />1. The Council has acknowledged that it is reasonable from time to time to <br /> review the procedures for tax abatement to assure that these procedures <br />Karl King continue to be appropriate in light of governing state law and local goals for <br />Fourth District community and economic development. <br />David Varner 2. The Council has further acknowledged that the last ordinance amending tax <br />Fifth District abatement procedures was passed in 1998; and, since that time, the governing <br /> state law has been amended. <br />Ervin Kuspa 3. The Council has expressed a desire that tax abatements be granted in a manner <br />Sixth District that provides improved incentives for private sector entities to invest in <br />Sean Coleman property and to execute certain other actions which the Council considers to <br />At Large provide public benefits that would be in the best interests of the City of South <br /> Bend. <br />Al "Buddy" Kirsits The tax abatement procedures set forth in this proposed ordinance are the result of <br />At Large research, analysis, deliberation, and a series of meetings conducted by the Council's <br />Karen L.
