The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine <br />ayes. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7210 -83 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $100,000.00 FROM THE LOCAL ROAD <br />AND STREET FUND TO PROJECT R &S 8304, CONCRETE IMPROVEMENTS, <br />WITHIN THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET FUND. <br />This bill had second reading. The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine <br />ayes. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7211 -83 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $17,000.00 FROM THE CUMULATIVE <br />SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING FUND TO PROJECT CS 822, ANGELA <br />BOULEVARD STORM DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS, WITHIN THE CUMULATIVE <br />SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING FUND. <br />This bill had second reading. The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes. <br />RESOLUTIONS <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1066 -83 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE CITY COMMONLY KNOWN AS <br />3707 WEST LATHROP STREET, SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AN ECONOMIC <br />REVITALIZATION AREA FOR THE PURPOSES OF REAL PROPERTY TAX <br />ABATEMENT. <br />WHEREAS, a petition for real property tax abatement consideration has been filed <br />with the Common Council of the City of South Bend, requesting that the area commonly <br />known as 3707 West Lathrop Street, South Bend, Indiana, and which is more particularly <br />described by a line drawn as follows: <br />A parcel of land in part of the Southeast Quarter of Section 28, Township 38 <br />North, Range 2 East, German Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana, described as <br />follows: <br />Commencing at the Southeast corner of said Section; thence North 90 desgrees 00 <br />minutes 00 seconds West 1878.68 feet along the South line of said Quarter Section; <br />thence North 0 degress 05 minutes 56 seconds East 40.00 feet to a point on the <br />North boundary of Lathrop Drive, thence North 90 degrees 00 minutes 00 seconds <br />West 445.36 feet along said boundary; thence North 0 degrees 00 minutes 47 seconds <br />East 488.34 feet; thence North 90 degrees 00 minutes 00 seconds East 446.09 <br />feet; thence South 0 degrees 05 minutes 56 secfonds West 488.33 feet to the <br />point of beginning. <br />Said tract being Lot 6 -2 Airport Industrial Park Phase III, <br />be designated as an Economic Revitalization Area under the provision of Indiana Code <br />6 -1.1- 12.1 -1, et seq.; and <br />WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Commission has concluded an investigation and prepared <br />a report with information sufficient for the Common Council to determine that the <br />area qualifies as an Economic Revitaliation Area under Indiana Code 6 -1.1- 12.1 -1, et <br />seq., and has further prepared maps and plans showing the boundaries and such other <br />information as required by law of the area in question; and <br />WHEREAS, the Human Resources and Economic Development Committee of the Common <br />Council has reviewed said report and recommended to the Common Council that the area <br />qualifies as an Economic Revitalization area. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, as follows: <br />SECTION I. That the Common Council hereby accepts the report and recommdation <br />of the Human Resources and Econmic Development Committee that the area <br />herein described be designated and Economic Revitalization Area and <br />hereby adopts a resolution designating this area as an Economic Revitalization <br />Area for purposes of real property tax abatement. <br />SECTION II. That this designation shall be limited to five (5) calendar years <br />from the date of the adoption of this Resolution by the Common Council. <br />SECTION III. That the Common Council directs the City Clerk to cause notice of <br />the adoption of this resolution to be published, said publication providing notice of <br />the public hearing before the Common Council on said declaration. <br />SECTION IV. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after <br />-its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />/s/ Beverlie J.
