37 <br />REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 25, 1982 <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. John Leszczynski, Director of <br />Public Works, made the presentation for the bill. He indicated this appropriation <br />was from interest earned on the investment of General Obligation Bond Funds. He <br />indicated the money would be used for the purchase of motor equipment needed for the <br />operation of the Street Department. Council Member Serge made a motion to recommend <br />this bill to the Council favorable, seconded by Council Member Szymkowiak. The <br />motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 117 -82 <br />A BILL APPROPRIATING $7,200.00 FROM THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />BLOCK GRANT FUND, FOR NEIGHBORHOOD CENTERS ACTIVITY TO BE <br />ADMINISTERED BY THE DIVISION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Colleen Rosenfeld, Dirctor of <br />Community Development, made the presentation for the bill. She indicated this appropriai <br />would provide the LaSalle Filmore, Northeast and Southeast Neighborhood Centers with <br />$2,400 each for a twelve month period in order to support their non - personnel operationa -7 <br />costs. She indicated that these centers previously received the bulk of their funding <br />through ACTION. Council Member Taylor made a motion to recommend this bill to the <br />Council favorable, seconded by Council Member Serge. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 118 -82 A BILL APPROPRIATING $65,574.00 FROM THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL <br />SERVICES FUND FOR CAPITAL REPAIRS WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Chief Brassell made the presentatic <br />for the bill. He indicated this appropriation would complete funding for the reconditio3 <br />of the Fire Department Snorkel. Council Member Szymkowiak made a motion to recommend <br />this bill to the Council favorable, seconded by Council Member Beck.
