230; <br />Y'° 3 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />BILL NO. 135 -81 <br />NOVEMBER 23, 1981 <br />A BILL APPROPRIATING $3,950.00 FROM THE DISCOVERY HALL FUND <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR RENTAL OF STORAGE <br />SPACE FOR THE STUDEBAKER COLLECTION TO BE ADMINISTERED BY <br />THE DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Beck made a motion to set this bill for <br />public hearing and second reading December 14, seconded by Council Member Taylor. <br />The mtoion carried. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR <br />T. Brooks Brademas, a local developer, spoke against the demolition of the Odd Fellows <br />Building. He indicated he could rehab the Odd Fellows Building. He asked that the <br />demolition be delayed. Ron Radecki, 123 S. St. Peter, representing Southhold, spoke <br />against the demolition. Kathryn Brookins, 701 W. LaSalle, spoke against this demolition. <br />Si Brazy, 1136 Helman Dr., spoke agianst the demolition of the Odd Fellows Building, <br />and the use of this land as a bus terminal. Council President McGann indicated he <br />had sent a letter to the president of the Redevelopment Commission, putting forth the <br />concerns raised by Mr. Brademas and Mr. Raker, and asked that they not award the <br />demolition contract until the Council's Human Resources and Economic Development <br />Committee has a chance to schedule a meeting between the interested developers, RedeveloF <br />Commission and the Redevelopment Staff. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Reports from Area Plan, Bill No. 87 -81 and 103 -81. <br />Council Member Beck made a motion to set these bills for public hearing and second <br />reading December 14, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, unfinished or new, Council <br />Member Dombrowski made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Taylor.
