SPECIAL MEETING _ 111 AY 8 1981 <br />I was informed by Council President Lewis McGann that Council members Szymkowiak, <br />McGann and Voorde received direct verbal notice of the calling of the special meeting <br />from Mayor Roger O. Gammon, City Clerk <br />BY:Mary Ann Ryback <br />Mary Ann Ryback, Deputy City Clerk <br />.Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in Special <br />Session, in the Council Chambers of the County -City Building on Friday May 8, 1981, <br />at 5:00 p.m. The meeting was caled to order and the Pledge to the Flag was given. <br />ROLL CALL Present: Council Members Serge, Szymkowiak, Beck, <br />Taylor, Crone, Dombrowski, <br />Voorde and McGann <br />Absent: None <br />Joseph Kernan, City Controller, indicated that the purpose of this meeting was to <br />introduce for first reading the salary bill, as amended, and agreed upon. <br />Council Member Beck made a motion to correct the bill no. to 45 -81, seconded by Coun- <br />cil Member Taylor. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 45 -81 <br />A BILL FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES AND WAGES OF APPOINTED OF- <br />FICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR <br />THE YEAR OF 1982. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Beck made a motion to set the bill for <br />public hearing and second reading May 18, 1981, seconded by Council Member Taylor. <br />The motion carried. Council Member Voorde made a motion to refer the bill to the <br />Personnel and Finance Committee, seconded by Council Member Beck. The motion car- <br />ried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, Council Member Beck made <br />a motion to adjourn, seconded by Council MembYAPPOVED: de.
