DERosE <br />CITY ATTORNEY <br />RE: A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA APPROVING A FIVE YEAR INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT <br />BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AND ST. <br />JOSEPH COUNTY, INDIANA FOR EMS SERVICES DURING CALENDAR <br />YEARS 2013 - 2017 <br />Dear President Dieter: <br />Attached for filing please find the above - referenced resolution to be considered by the <br />Common Council at its June 24, 2013, meeting. This Resolution approves a 5 -year interlocal <br />agreement with St. Joseph County to provide ambulance service for those portions of St. Joseph <br />County which do not otherwise have ambulance service available. <br />On November 26, 2012, the Council adopted Resolution 4220 -12 approving a 5 -year <br />interlocal agreement. However, the agreement was never executed by the Council. Thereafter, <br />the original agreement was modified to clarify the area to be served and to correct certain <br />typographical errors. This resolution is intended to provide the Council's approval of the <br />agreement as clarified and corrected and to authorize execution of same. <br />Your favorable consideration is requested.
