BILL NO. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7r) <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $15,182.00 FROM THE EQUAL <br />EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY FUND TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION <br />AND DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES AND ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT. <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: <br />The City of South Bend is committed to equal employment <br />opportunity. In attempting to achieve this goal a local Human Rights <br />Commission has been established. This ordinance will enable the City <br />to resolve charges of discrimination referred to the local Human <br />Rights Commission. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of <br />the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br />SECTION 1. The sum of $15,182.00 is hereby appropriated for <br />the fiscal year starting January 1, 1979, from the Equal Opportunity <br />Commission Fund. The appropriation shall be used for the expenses of <br />the Human Rights Commission incurred under the Federal Grant awarded <br />them by the Equal Opportunity Commission. The appropriation shall <br />be administered by the Human Rights Commission and Department of <br />Human Resources and Economic Development and will be administered as <br />set forth below: <br />HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION <br />1 -1 -79 - 12 -31 -79 <br />ACCOUNT NO.
