ORDINANCE NO. (&4(6q-> <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $26,433.00 FROM THE COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUND FOR AN INFORMATION BASE FOR <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLANNING AND DECISION - MAKING TO BE <br />ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS <br />DVISION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: <br />The government of the City of South Bend, in partnership with <br />the City's private sector and residents, is committed to the goal of <br />improving the "quality of life" in the City, its neighborhoods, and for <br />its residents. As part of this commitment to a comprehensive community <br />development and improvement program, the City of South Bend through its <br />Division of Community Development has applied for and received the <br />approval of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development <br />to expend $3,805,000.00 in the execution of certain public works, park <br />improvement, housing, and public service project activities. In order <br />to provide for efficient and effective utilization of the CDBG funds, <br />through planning, program development, and management, additional funds <br />are required by the Division of Community Development. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City <br />of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br />SECTION I. The sum of $26,433.00 is hereby appropriated for the <br />program year starting July 7, 1978 from the Community Development Block <br />Grant Fund (Program Year 1978). This appropriation is to be administered <br />by the Division of Community Development, and will be distributed as set <br />forth below: <br />PROGRAM CD -78 -1102 <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM <br />PURPOSE AMOUNT <br />Information Base for Community Development <br />Planning and Decision - Making $26,433.00 <br />TOTAL: $26,433.00 <br />SECTION II.
