NEMETH, Mayor <br />COUNTY -CITY BUILDING SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46601 <br />Common Council <br />Building <br />46601 <br />August 21, 1978 <br />RE: Engineering Department Budget Transfers <br />Dear Councilmen: <br />Attached you will find an ordinance requesting a transfer of $3,600 <br />from Account No. 722, Motor Equipment, to Account No. 260, Other Con - <br />tractuals. <br />219/284 -9251 <br />When originally funded, this amount was set aside for the acquisition <br />of used Police Department vehicles. Due to the fact that the Police <br />Department traded only twelve vehicles during 1978, mechanically sound <br />vehicles were not present in sufficient numbers to address this Depart- <br />ment's needs. As a result, I am requesting that this $3,600 be trans- <br />ferred into a line item which will allow me to effect mechanical and <br />body repairs to vehicles in our existing fleet, thus extending the ser- <br />vice life of these vehicles. <br />Should you have any questions in regard to these matters, please contact <br />me at your earliest convenience. <br />V yours <br />atrick M.
