REGULAR MEETING _ - UI28,�3 98- 6�_�-- z�-==-- - - - -.- <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7673 -86 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $40,862.99 FROM THE <br />CUMULATIVE SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING FUND TO VARIOUS <br />PROJECTS. <br />This bill had second reading. Council Member Serge made a motion to pass this bill, <br />seconded by Council Member Puzzello. The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine <br />ayes. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7674 -86 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $526,000.00 FROM THE <br />CUMULATIVE SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING FUND TO PROJECT <br />CS 830 PENDLE, JUNIPER AND DOUGLAS RD. SEWERS WITHIN <br />THE CUMULATIVE SEWER BUILDING AND SINKING FUND. <br />This bill had second reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to pass this <br />bill, seconded by Council Member Barcome. The bill passed by a roll call vote of <br />nine ayes. <br />RESOLUTION 86 -30 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE CITY COMMONLY KNOWN AS 3035 <br />NORTH BENDIX AN ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREA FOR PURPOSES OF REAL <br />PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT. <br />Council Member Barcome made a motion to continue public hearing on this bill <br />indefinitely, seconded by Council Member Paszek. The motion carried. <br />BILLS, FIRST READING <br />BILL NO. 83 -86 A BILL TO VACATE THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY: THE EAST /WEST <br />ALLEY EXCEPTING THE THRU NORTH /SOUTH RIGHT -OF -WAY BOUNDED BY <br />MICHIGAN STREET ON THE EAST, MAIN STREET ON THE WEST, ABUTTING <br />LOTS 297 AND 304 OF PART OF THE ORIGINAL PLAT OF SOUTH BEND ON <br />THE NORTH, AND ABUTTING LOTS 298 AND 303 OF PART OF THE ORIGINAL <br />PLAT OF SOUTH BEND ON THE SOUTH, ALL IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />PORTAGE TOWNSHIP, ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, INDIANA. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to set this bill <br />for second reading and public hearing August 18, seconded by Council Member <br />Barcome. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 84 -86 <br />A BILL TO VACATE THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY; THE FIRST <br />EAST -WEST ALLEY SOUTH OF NAVARRE STREET RUNNING WEST FROM <br />MICHIGAN STREET A DISTANCE OF 159 FEET TO A POINT OF SIX FEET <br />EAST OF THE FIRST INTERSECTING NORTH -SOUTH ALLEY EAST OF MAIN <br />STREET, ALL BEING IN THE ORIGINAL PLAT OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />AND LYING BETWEEN LOTS 147 AND 148 OF SAID PLAT. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Serge made a motion to set this bill <br />for second reading and public hearing August 18, seconded by Council Member Paszek. <br />The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 85 -86 <br />A BILL AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE <br />ENTITLED ZONING. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Puzzello made a motion to refer this <br />bill to Area Plan, seconded by Council Member Voorde. The motion carried. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Council Member Taylor made a motion to set Bill No. 67 -86 for public hearing and <br />second reading August 18, seconded by Council Member Puzzello. The motion carried. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR <br />Mary Ellen Guenert, 3510 Corby, spoke regarding remarks made by Robert Staley <br />regarding the base ball stadium, the Fair Tax Association and the Catholic Church. <br />Joseph Guenert, 3510 Corby, spoke regarding the stadium. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, unfinished or new, <br />Council Member Taylor made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member <br />Puzzello.
