REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 29, 1984 <br />A public hearing was held on the resolution at this time. T. Brooks Brademas indicated <br />this building would be used for office space for small existing businesses. He <br />indicated he planned to move his operation from Mishawaka to this building. He <br />indicated there will be a wide range of support services provided in -house for these <br />business, which includes a telephone system, word processing, computer support, <br />reproduction services, conference room and related business services that are generally <br />too expensive for a small business to provide and support by themselves. He indicated <br />that over 100 new jobs will be created. Milton Katz, 1845 Churchill Dr., spoke <br />against tax abatement. Council Member Puzzello made a motion to adopt this resolution, <br />seconded by Council Member Taylor. The resolution was adopted by a roll call vote <br />of seven ayes and two nays (Council Members Zakrzewski and Crone.) <br />BILLS, FIRST READING <br />BILL NO. 55 -84 A BILL APPROVING THE FORM AND TERMS OF LOAN AGREEMENT, <br />MORTGAGE AND SECURITY AGREEMENT, PROMISSORY NOTE, ECONOMIC <br />DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BOND, AND TRUST INDENTURE, AUTHORIZING <br />THE EXECUTION THEREOF AND APPROVING RESOLUTION NO. 26 -80 OF <br />THE SOUTH BEND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION RELATING TO <br />THE METAL RESOURCES CORPORATION PROJECT. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Serge made a motion to accept the substitute <br />bill on file with the City Clerk, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion <br />carried. Council Member Puzzello made a motion to set this bill for public hearing <br />and second reading June 11, 1984, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion <br />carried. <br />BILL NO. 56 -84 <br />A BILL TO VACATE THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY: A PART <br />OF THE ALLEY THAT IS KNOWN AS RASMUSSEN COURT OF THE ORIGINAL <br />PLAT OF THE TOWN (NOW CITY) OF SOUTH BEND, ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, <br />INDIANA, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: BEGINNING <br />AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF LOT 36 OF SAID PLAT, THENCE EAST <br />A DISTANCE OF 14.0 FEET ALONG THE PROLONGATION EXTENSION OF <br />THE NORTH LINE OF SAID LOT 36 TO THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF <br />LOT 25, THENCE SOUTH A DISTANCE OF 146.45 FEET ALONG THE <br />EAST LINE OF SAID ALLEY, THENCE NORTHWEST A DISTANCE OF <br />19.8 FEET TO THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF LOT 35, THENCE NORTH A <br />DISTANCE OF 132.45 FEET ALONG THE EAST LINE OF SAID ALLEY <br />TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING. Council Member Braboy made a motion to set this bill <br />for public hearing and second reading June 11, and refer it to the Zoning and Vacaton <br />Committee, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Report from Area Plan - Bill No. 33 -84. Council Member Voorde made a motion to set <br />this bill for public hearing and second reading June 11, and refer it to the residential <br />Neighborhood Committee, seconded by Council Member Crone. The motion carried. <br />Council Member Paszek indicated there are many street lights out in the City and the <br />I &M is not cooperating in regard to getting them turned on. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, unfinished or new, Council <br />Member Taylor made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Serge.
