REGULAR MEETING MAY 14, 1984 <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Serge made a motion to refer this bill <br />to Area Plan, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 54 -84 A BILL APPROVING AN AMENDED INTERLOCAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND ST. JOSEPH <br />COUNTY, INDIANA, FOR CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF MAPLE <br />ROAD AND THE EXTENSION OF WEST CALVERT STREET. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Zakrzewski made a motion to set this <br />bill for public hearing and second reading May 29, 1984, and refer it to the Public <br />Works Committee, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Council Member Voorde made a motion to set Bill No. 51 -84 for public hearing and <br />second reading May 29, and refer it to the Zoning and Vacation Committee, <br />seconded by Council Member Crone. The motion carried. <br />Council Member Voorde made a motion to declare a moratorium on accepting any new tax <br />abatements, seconded by Council Member Zakrzewski. After a lengthly discussion <br />Council Member Voorde withdrew his motion. Council Member Braboy asked that this <br />matter be referred to the Human Resources and Economic Development Committee. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR <br />Irene Mutzl, 320 Parkovash, spoke regarding the salary increases for the Council and <br />the Mayor. <br />Mike Coleman, 618 N. Johnson, spoke regarding tax abatement. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, unfished or new, Council <br />Member Taylor made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Puzzello.
