ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 8, SECTION <br />2 -120 (a) OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA PERTAINING TO THE ANNUAL VACATIONS FOR <br />CITY PERSONNEL, <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: <br />The Operators of the Waste Water Treatment Plant work a <br />regularly scheduled six (6) day week. Prior to 1970, earned <br />vacation time was based on 6 day weeks rather than 5 day weeks. <br />It is the City's wish to correct Chapter 2-120 (a) of the <br />Municipal Code so that it will conform to the Teamster's work <br />agreement, presently in effect with the City. <br />NOW, .THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: <br />SECTION I. Chapter 2, Article 8, Section 2 -120 (a) of the <br />Municipal Code of the City of South Bend is hereby amended by the <br />addition of sub - section (6): <br />(6) Waste Water Treatment Plant Operators whose regular work <br />week is six (6) days on and two (2) days off will receive paid vacation <br />in accordance with the following schedule; <br />YEARS OF SERVICE <br />DAYS OF VACATION <br />6 <br />1 <br />months <br />6 <br />working <br />days <br />8 <br />year <br />12 <br />working <br />days <br />16 <br />years <br />18 <br />working <br />days <br />20 <br />years <br />24 <br />working <br />days <br />years <br />30 <br />working <br />days <br />SECTION II.
