County -City Bldg. <br />Phone - (219) 2849355 <br />On September 18, 1978, the South Bend Human Rights Commission was <br />awarded by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission an Improve- <br />ment Contract for Rapid Charge Processing totaling $19,800. These <br />funds are separate from whatever amount the Commission will receive <br />from EEOC for Charge Resolutions. <br />The Commission proposes to implement rapid processing of charges <br />through the upgrading of the present EEOC Monitor who will utilize <br />revised intake standards and procedures, fact finding conferences, <br />and no fault settlements to process incoming charges. <br />In light of the City's past committment to human rights it is hoped <br />that this Ordinance will meet with the Council favorably. <br />The Commission will make <br />Council at its earliest <br />IR:bh <br />itself available to meet with the Common <br />convenience to discuss the Ordinance. <br />s <br />Sincerel <br />Isadore Rosenfeld f <br />
