Parent, President South Bend Common Council County -City Building 227 West Jefferson Boulevard South Bend, Indiana Dear Mr. Parent: The Department of Public Parks is requesting the Common Council to approve the enclosed ordinance for the transfer of $21,106.00 between various accounts in the General Park Fund. There is a surplus in account #110.0, Salaries and Wages, because the Park Department did not replace employees who retired or who left our employment for various reasons. Most of the increases are needed because funds for the operation of the Ice Box skating facility were not budgeted in the 1978 budget. In starting up the ice skating facility, we have run into some unexpected costs, thus, the need for additional funds. The increase requested in account #620.0, Social Security, is due to underbudgeting in this years park budget. The Council's approval of the enclosed ordinance will be appreciated.
