East Res. *Funds are subject to the City Controller's determination of availability; if funds are unavailable, as solely determined by the City Controller, then the authorization of the expenditure of such funds shall be void and of no effect. PURPOSE OF REQUEST: This budget request is for $4,200,000 for the Colfax Streetscape project. SPECIFICS: Streetscape-related improvements are proposed to Colfax Avenue to create a safer, walkable environment more inviting to commercial and residential development. Funding is requested for the Colfax Streetscape project. The limits for the Colfax Streetscape are from Sycamore to Eddy. The most significant improvements are from Sycamore St. to just east of Hill St. and include sidewalks, curbs, bumpouts, driveway approaches, shared-use path on the south side of the street, an enhanced pedestrian crossing for the East Bank Trail, storm sewer improvements, landscaping, decorative streetlights and other typical streetscape amenities. From Hill to Eddy will include a mill and overlay of the asphalt roadway. Colfax Streetscape is estimated to be $4,200,000.
