Construction funds reflecting the <br />City's 30% match to programmed Federal Funds will be appropriated at a <br />later date, once right -of -way acquisition has been initiated. <br />R & S 60 - Orange /Colfax Connector $ _3051000.00 <br />Design by Cole Associates <br />An additional sum of $13,000.00 is required to pay the cost of the revisions <br />to the plans and environmental reports which resulted from the utilization <br />of the recently acquired South Shore right -of -way which lies between Colfax <br />Street and LaPorte Avenue. <br />An additional sum of $12,000.00 is required to address the cost of final <br />right -of -way acquisition. <br />The City's 30% of the construction costs shall be addressed by the balance <br />of the requested appropriation, namely $280,000.00 - plus the previously <br />appropriated $200,000.00 in C.D. Funds. <br />R & S 61 - Michigan Street /Main Street Connector 200,000 00 <br />Design by Murphy Engineering, Inc. <br />Engineering plans are completed and presently under review by the State <br />Highway. An additional amount of $70,152.00 is estimated to be required <br />to complete the necessary right -of -way acquisition. <br />An additional amount of $129,848.00 is estimated to be required to address <br />the cost of construction. Construction will commence immediately upon <br />completion of right -of -way acquisition. <br />R & S 7903 - Ireland Road, Fellows to U.S. 31 83,500.00 <br />To be designed by K.Kaser Associates <br />In order to relieve an extremely conjested traffic problem along Ireland <br />Road which has resulted from the recent development of numerous retail and <br />commercial facilities, it is proposed that this section of Ireland Road be <br />widened to five (5) lanes. All related fees are included in the $83,500.00 <br />estimate. <br />R & S 7904 - Ironwood to Pleasant 106,600.00 <br />To be designed by City Engineering Dep t. <br />The present intersection at Ironwood and Pleasant is not of sufficient <br />capacity to address current traffic demands. Recently approved commercial <br />developments at this location, plus the additional traffic to be detoured <br />to Ironwood Road during the reconstruction of the Twyckenham Bridge will <br />serve to further aggravate this situation. Widening and improved channeli- <br />zation,together with new traffic signals are proposed with this $106,600.00 <br />request. <br />
