ORDINANCE NO.
<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE
<br />BUREAU OF WATER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br />INDIANA, AND (1) CLOW CORPORATION, SOUTH BEND
<br />INDIANA; (2) SIDENER SUPPLY OF INDIANA, INC., ,
<br />INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA; AND (3) UNITED STATES
<br />PIPE AND FOUNDRY COMPANY, CHICAGO, ILLINOIS,
<br />FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN ASSORTMENT OF WATER
<br />MAIN, VALVES, FITTINGS AND HYDRANTS IN THE
<br />AMOUNT OF $357,762.18.
<br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
<br />To approve the purchase of water main,valves, fittings and hydrants
<br />as required for the operation and maintenance of the Bureau of Water.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
<br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
<br />SECTION I. The the Contract entered into between the Bureau of Water
<br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and (1) Clow Corporation, South Bend,
<br />Indiana; and (2) Sidener Supply of Indiana, Inc., Indianapolis, Indiana;
<br />and (3) United States Pipe and Foundry Company, Chicago, Illinois, on
<br />the 21stday of May, 1979, pursuant to advertising and receipt of bids
<br />as the purchase of same is required in the operation of the Bureau of
<br />Water, in a total quantity and a total cost not to exceed the quantity
<br />and cost itemized for each classification of water main, valves, fittings
<br />and hydrants in the amount of $357,762.18, is hereby approved and
<br />confirmed:
