NEMETH, Mayor. <br />COUNTY -CITY BUILDING SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46601 <br />April 4, 1979 <br />Members of the Common Council <br />4th Floor County -City Building <br />South Bend, IN <br />Dear Council Members, <br />219/284 -9483 <br />There will be presented for your consideration at first <br />reading of the April 9, 1979 Council meeting, <br />appropriating $20,000.00 from the Revenue Saring�Trustnce <br />Fund for the purchase of Turnout coats for the Fire <br />Department. <br />The Board of Public Works has taken bids, and is now ready <br />to award Hawk Fire Equipment Company the bid for 241 coats <br />at $25,808.67. If you will remember, the City, throuh <br />the Council, negotiated this purchase with the firefighters <br />bargaining committee, and mutually a reed that each fireman <br />who ordered a coat would contribute 25.00 towards its <br />cost from his annual clothing allowance. This contribution <br />amounts to $6,025.00, which will reduce the City's share to <br />$19,783.69. <br />If you have additional questions, feel free to contact <br />MY office. <br />MLV /bkn <br />Sincerely, <br />Michael L.
