ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE BUREAU OF <br />WATER OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AND INTER- <br />STATE CONTRACTING & COATING CO., INC., ZELIENOPLE, <br />PENNSYLVANIA FOR THE REPAINTING OF THE IRELAND ROAD <br />STANDPIPE (3.5 MILLION GALLONS) IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF <br />$56,700. <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: <br />This ordinance concerns the repainting of the Ireland Road Stand- <br />pipe (3.5 million gallons). The Ireland tank was last painted in 1961 <br />when it was built. It is in reasonably good shape at this time but is <br />starting to deteriorate, and should be maintained by painting inside <br />and outside before it gets any worse. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. That the Contract entered into between the Bureau of <br />Water of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and Inter -State Contracting & <br />Coating Co., Inc., Zelienople, Pennsylvania, on the 4th day of September, <br />1979, pursuant to advertising and receipt of bids as repainting of the <br />standpipe is necessary in the operation of the Bureau of Water, in a <br />total amount not to exceed $56,700 as bid, is hereby approved and <br />confirmed: <br />Inter -State Contracting & <br />Coating Co., Inc. <br />Zelienople, Pennsylvania $56,700 (Low Bid) <br />SECTION II.
