South Bend, IN <br /> Dear Committee Chair Dr. Davis: <br /> Enclosed is an Ordinance for a proposed Text Amendment to Chapter 21. The Common Council <br /> of the City of South Bend, Indiana, adopted a new zoning ordinance for the City of South Bend <br /> that went into effect on January 1, 2020. Since its last amendment in September 2021, use of the <br /> Ordinance has identified a few standards that need further clarification, correction, or revision. <br /> Changes to these standards will support a more vibrant, resilient community while improving the <br /> ease of use of the zoning ordinance. <br /> Please include the attached Ordinance on the Council agenda for first reading at your December <br /> 8,2025 Council meeting and set it for public hearing at your January 12, 2026 Council meeting. <br /> The petition is tentatively scheduled for public hearing at the December 15,2025 South Bend <br /> Plan Commission meeting.
