This ordinance will add the Common Council part-time administrative assistant to a full- <br /> time Executive Assistant position with benefits in the Office of the City Clerk. The City Clerk has <br /> determined that it is appropriate and necessary to amend this ordinance and add the position under her <br /> direction due to the increasing responsibilities of the position as reflected in the amended list attached <br /> to this ordinance as Exhibit A. <br /> I now request an amendment to this non-bargaining salary ordinance,specifically to make the <br /> following changes: <br /> • Removal of a part-time Administrative Assistant Position for the South Bend Common <br /> Council(with a 2026 cap of$59,740)to place in the office of the City Clerk <br /> • Establish a full-time Executive Assistant Position(with a 2026 cap of$59,740)and adding <br /> benefits. <br /> • There is no salary increase to the position;only changing to full-time with benefits. <br /> I will present this bill to the Common Council at appropriate committee meetings.It is requested <br /> that this substitute bill be accepted for a 2"d reading,public hearing,and 3rd reading scheduled for <br /> December 8,2025. <br /> Thank you for your attention to this request.
