ORDINANCE NO. ~ ~ S ~~~~ <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA APPROPRIATING $830.00 RECEIVED FROM THE <br />U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT'S <br />EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANT PROGRAM. <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br />In order to deliver service to homeless individuals within our community, the City of South <br />Bend received funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the delivery <br />of such services through various sub-grantees. The funds appropriated in this ordinance will aid in <br />defraying the costs of shelter operation and maintenance and in providing essential services and <br />assistance in homeless prevention. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana: <br />Section I. The sum of $830.00 is hereby appropriated and allocated among accounts as <br />set forth below: <br />PROJECT NUMBER DESCRIPTION AMOUNT <br />JES 07-1 Center for the Homeless $314.00 <br />JES 07-2 AIDS Ministries/AIDS Assist $ 62.00 <br />JES 07-3 Youth Service Bureau $140.00 <br />JES 07-4 YWCA $314.00 <br />TOTAL $830.00 <br />Section II. No costs will be incurred or funds expended for any of the programs addressed in <br />this ordinance prior to completion and subsequent certification of the Environmental Review Process <br />specified in Title Twenty-four (24) part Fifty-eight (58) of the Code of Federal Regulations, <br />containing the Environmental Review Procedures for the Emergency Shelter Grants Program, and <br />the receipt of an official release of funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development. <br />Section III. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by <br />the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />c <br />Member of the mmon Council <br />
