BILL NO. <br />ORDINANCE NO. %7Q6 7 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $135,000.00 <br />FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT, COMMONLY <br />REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING, FOR <br />THE CONSTRUCTION OF AFIRE STATION TO BE <br />LOCATED IN THE AREA OF THE AIRPORT INDUSTRIAL <br />PARK, TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS. <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council recognizes that there <br />has been major expansion of a residential, commercial, and light <br />industrial nature in the Airport Industrial Park and its <br />surrounding area, and it wishes to support and encourage <br />such expansion by providing fire protection on a level equal <br />to the expansion. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council <br />of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br />SECTION I. The sum of $135,000.00 is hereby <br />appropriated from the General Revenue Sharing for the construction <br />of the northwest Airport Industrial Park Fire Station.
