BILL NO. <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $35,000.00 FROM THE EQUAL EMPLOYMENT <br />OPPORTUNITY FUND TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />THROUGH ITS HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION AND DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN <br />RESOURCES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: <br />The City of South Bend is committed to equal employment opportunity. <br />In attempting to achieve this goal a local Human Rights Commission has been <br />established. This ordinance will enable the City to resolve charges of dis- <br />crimination referred to the local Human Rights Commission. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br />SECTION I. The sum of $35,000.00 is hereby appropriated for the fiscal <br />year starting November 1, 1979, from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission <br />Fund. The appropriation shall be used for the expenses of the Human Rights <br />Commission incurred under the Federal Grant awarded them by the Equal Employ- <br />ment Opportunity Commission.
