BILL NO. <br />ORDINANCE NO. ® -� <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $7,750.00 FROM THE EQUAL <br />EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY FUND TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION <br />AND DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOP- <br />MENT. <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: <br />The City of South Bend is committed to equal employment op- <br />portunity. In attempting to achieve this goal a local Human Rights <br />Commission has been established. This ordinance will enable the City <br />to resolve charges of discrimination referred to the local Human Rights <br />Commission. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the <br />City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br />SECTION I. The sum of $7,750.00 is hereby appropriated for <br />the fiscal year starting October 1, 1979, from the Equal Employment <br />Opportunity Commission Fund. The appropriation shall be used for the <br />expenses of the Human Rights Commission incurred under the Federal Grant <br />awarded them by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
