SPECIAL MEETING APRIL 26, 2013 38 <br />The Board of Public Safety met in a Special Meeting at 8:06 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2013, with <br />Board President Patrick D. Cottrell and Board Members Laura Vasquez, Eddie Miller and John <br />Collins present. Board member Luther Taylor was absent. Also present was Board Attorney Andrea <br />Beachkofsky. The meeting was held in the Board Conference Room, Ste. 1308, County City <br />Building, 227 West Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, Indiana. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />APPROVE CONTINUATION OF HEARING OF CHARGES NO. 2013 -03 — PATRICIA BYRD <br />President Cottrell informed the Board that Attorney Thomas Dixon has requested to continue the <br />Hearing of the above Charges, and the City is in agreement with his request. In an Agreed Motion to <br />Continue Hearing, Mr. Dixon suggested the date of the Hearing be rescheduled for either May 10 or <br />May 13, 2013. After consultation, upon a motion by Mr. Collins, seconded by Mr. Miller and carried, <br />the Board approved the resetting of the Hearing of Charges 2013 -03, Patricia Byrd, to May 10, 2013, <br />at 10:00 a.m. in the Common Council Chambers, 4th Floor, County-City Building. <br />RESET HEARING OF CHARGES N0.2013 -01— THEODORE ROBERT <br />President Cottrell stated that Attorney Douglas Grimes informed the Board that he was not available <br />for the Hearing of Charges No. 2013 -01 on the date the Board previously set of May 10, 2013. Mr. <br />Cottrell stated Mr. Grimes and the City have June 6 and June 7, 2013 available. He suggested the 6th <br />would be preferable in case the Hearing extends to two days, the 7th could also be reserved. <br />Therefore, upon a motion by Ms. Vasquez, seconded by Mr. Miller and carried, the Board set the <br />Hearing of Charges No. 2013 -01, Theodore Robert, for June 6, 2013, at 8:00 a.m. in the Common <br />Council Chambers, 4th Floor, County City Building. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, Mr. Cottrell declared the meeting <br />adjourned at 8:12 a.m. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY <br />a` <br />l <br />Patrick D.
