PARENT, Mayor <br />COUNTY -CITY BUILDING SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46601 <br />January 23, 1980 <br />Members of the Council <br />4th Floor, Council Chambers <br />County -City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Dear Council Members: <br />The proposed ordinance that you have before you <br />allocates $7,000.00 in Revenue Sharing Funds to be <br />used for the purchase of office equipment. <br />A rough breakdown on the projected use of these <br />funds is as follows: $2,100.00 for office furnishings <br />such as desk, table, chairs and files, $2,500.00 for <br />typewriters and $2,400.00 for dictating and transcribing <br />equipment. <br />The request for Revenue Sharing funds for these <br />items is based solely on the fact that they are necessary <br />for the efficient operation of the Mayor's, Controller's <br />and City Attorney's offices. <br />Considerable downtime has been encountered in recent <br />weeks because of the age and general disrepair of the <br />present office equipment. With regard to the dictating <br />and transcribing equipment, we are also making every <br />effort to insure that all of the systems are compatible, <br />which had not been the case in the past. <br />Your favorable consideration is requested on this <br />appropriation.
