CRONE facilitating the continuation of good faith negotiations <br />At Large between the res p ecti <br />RICHARD C. DOMBROWSKI ve Wage Committees of the Common <br />At Large Council and the Police Department. <br />JOHN VOORDE <br />At Large <br />This Bill represents a total money expenditure of approximately <br />$383,000.00 for the salary package for 1981, excepting <br />the positions of Chief, Division Chiefs, and Captains. <br />The Council`s Wage Committee desires to continue good <br />faith negotiations with the F.O.P. Wage Committee between <br />the filing of this Bill and its eventual passage on <br />July 14th. Such meetings however,.will only be for the <br />purpose of determining the final distribution of the money. <br />There will be no new money added to this package. <br />As you are all well aware, we have reached the absolute <br />top dollar amount which can be offered to the Police <br />Officers. In order to continue to operate in a fiscally <br />responsible manner, there is no way any new money can <br />be added.. <br />Over the next few weeks the Council Wage Committee will <br />attempt to meet with the Police Wage Committee and the <br />City Administration to hammer out any further considerations <br />which this ordinance should address. The Common Council <br />will be updated on a continuing basis throughout these <br />negotiations.. <br />You can be assured that the Council Wage Committee will <br />carefully weigh the benefits and the needs of the <br />citizens of South Bend and of the Police Officers when <br />determining the final figures of the Bill. <br />
