a. A person is eligible for a renewal registration if he/she holds a valid and <br /> unrevoked registration under this article and renews the registration on or before <br /> its expiration date. <br /> b. A person is also eligible for a renewal registration if he/she has held a valid and <br /> unrevoked registration, which has expired within the previous six(6)months. <br /> Under these circumstances, a renewal registration will be granted, but the fee will <br /> be increased to the fee required for a new registration. <br /> c. A renewal registration will not be granted to any person whose previous <br /> registration has expired for more than six(6) months. Under such circumstances, <br /> application must be made and all requirements met for a new registration as set <br /> out above. <br /> (i) Registration Fees: <br /> (1) Class A: <br /> New $125.00 <br /> Renewal $125.00 <br /> (2) Class B: <br /> New and renewal $125.00 <br /> (j) Inactive Registrations: <br /> (1) Any electrician previously holding a Class A registration and is presently employed by <br /> a government agency as an Inspector within a Building Department may maintain an <br /> inactive registration. <br /> (2) Term: The term of an inactive registration under this article is from the date of issuance <br /> of the registration and for twelve (12) months thereafter. <br /> (3) Registration Fees: <br /> a. Twenty-five dollars ($25.00) <br /> (k) Termination of registration holder: <br /> (1) In the event that the registration holder leaves the employment of a business firm, <br /> company, or corporation, that business firm, company, or corporation shall have thirty <br /> (30) days to secure another registration holder. A new registration shall be issued in <br /> accordance with the provisions set forth in Section 6-23. <br /> (2) In the event of a death of the registration holder,the business firm, company, or <br /> corporation shall have six(6) months to secure another registration holder. A new <br /> registration shall be issued in accordance with the provisions set forth in Section 6-23. <br /> (Ord. No. 8243-92, § 1; Ord. No. 8566-94, § 2; Ord. No. 8931-98, § 4; Ord. No person shall perform or cause to be performed the installation or <br /> alteration of any electrical wiring or equipment, including fire alarm systemson or within <br /> any building, structure or premises within the City without obtaining, in advance, a permit <br /> from the Department. <br /> (b) Where a person shall unlawfully proceed to do any work or installation without a permit as <br /> required herein, the applicable permit fee shall be tripled as a penalty.
