Structural Design of renovations for the addition of an elevator shaft to an existing office building in <br />South bend, Indiana. <br />2. Elevator shaft will service basement, first, and second floors and be structurally independent form the <br />existing structure. <br />a. Elevator shaft will be reinforced masonry with a cast in place concrete foundations. <br />3. Renovations are based on the Renovation Drawings provided by Make Room Architecture and Design. <br />a. Structural engineering scope was not addressed in the provided drawings. <br />4. The existing structure is anticipated to be steel construction. <br />a. Existing drawings are not available, therefore a site visit will be required to collect the <br />necessary existing structural information. JQOL Global will coordinate with the owner on <br />required areas for access. The coordination will be to ensure that the structure is clear and <br />visible at the time of the site visit. <br />i. If the structure is not accessible at the time of the site visit, resulting in needs for <br />additional visits, fee for additional services will be required. <br />5. This proposal excludes lateral analysis for the existing structure. If design coordination results in the <br />need for lateral analysis/reinforcing, fee for additional services will be required. <br />6. It is anticipated that the foundations for the new shaft will require extensive coordination with the existing <br />structure foundations. Testing may be required to determine necessary design information. JQOL <br />Global will coordinate any testing requirements to be paid by the owner. <br />7. Proposal based on shallow foundations and a floating slab on grade. <br />a. Design coordination resulting in the requirement for Structural Design of deep foundation <br />system will result in the need for additional services. <br />8. Structural detailing and plan drawings for items designed by JQOL Global. <br />9. Coordination meetings with design team as required. <br />10. Coordination and QA/QC of items directly affected and designed by JQOL Global. <br />11. Preparation of technical specifications for the structural items described above. <br />12. Review of shop drawings and submittals required by technical specifications. Such review will be for <br />general conformance with design concepts of the project and general compliance with the information <br />provided in the Construction Documents. <br />a. Review of performance specified items submittals are for conformance with design criteria only. <br />13. Respond to RFI’s and questions as needed. <br />14. Site visits during construction phase (2 max). <br /> <br />Project Description Main/Wayne Garage Elevator Replacement <br />1. Structural evaluation and design coordination for modernization of two elevators in an existing parking <br />garage in South bend, Indiana. <br />2. Existing structure is cast in concrete. <br />a. JQOL will evaluate the existing structure to determine if there are any deficiencies in the <br />existing elevator shafts via a one-day site visit. <br />i. Once conditions of the structure are determined, a separate proposal will be <br />submitted for any structural repair detailing. <br />3. JQOL will confirm hoist beam support for existing structure. <br />4. Structural detailing and plan drawings for items designed by JQOL Global. <br />5. Coordination meetings with design team as required. <br />6. Coordination and QA/QC of items directly affected and designed by JQOL Global. <br />7. Preparation of technical specifications for the structural items described above.
