ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A FIREARMS TRAINING FUND. <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: <br />The 1981 General Assembly of the State of Indiana amended <br />I.C. 35- 23 -4.1 -5 to mandate the police department collectn foraa <br />Five Dollar ($5.00) application fee from any person applying <br />handgun license. The statute now requires that the fee be deposited <br />into the police department's firearms training fund or other <br />appropriate training activities fund and used by the department <br />exclusively for the purpose �fother training <br />law enforcement enforcement <br />dutiesficers in <br />the proper use of firearms o <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the <br />City of South Bend, Indiana: <br />SECTION I. That a firearms training <br />and that all fees collected for handgun license <br />deposited in that fund. <br />firearms training fund be <br />for the purpose of training <br />of firearms or other law <br />fund be established <br />applications be <br />SECTION II. That monies in the <br />used by the police department exclusively <br />law enforcement officers in the proper use <br />enforcement duties. <br />SECTION III.
