Southeast Quality of Life
Strategic Neighborhood Action Plan
Use of Existing Individual Capacities
individual residents have skills that are not being recognized as such or used to
support themselves, each other, or the neighborhood as a whole. Two elements
of the strategy the Neighborhood Directory and Sharing Success Stories are
intended to increase individual awareness of the power of the individual to solve
their own problems and those of their neighbors. The SEQL neighborhood needs to reach a level
of self-sufficiency in which it is functioning as a neighborhood making collective
decisions for the good of the whole and the individuals that make up the
neighborhood feel capable of making the choices they face in daily life.
in a practical sense, each of the individual strategy elements works toward the
goal of Neighborhood Self-sufficiency.
