ORDINANCE NO. toq 6 1 -h AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $71,158.00 FROM THE INDIANA STATE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT GRANTS PROGRAM, FOR THE PROGRAM YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1981 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1982, TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND REDEVELOPMENT. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT The Government of the City of South Bend, in creative and affirmative partnership with its residents, private enterprise and the Federal Government, is committed to the goal of expanding economic opportunities. As part of this commitment, the City of South Bend, through its Department of Economic Develop- ment and Redevelopment, has applied for and received approval of the Indiana State Department of Commerce to expend $71,158.00 in the execution of an Economic Development Grants Program. These funds will be utilized to fund the City of South Bend's efforts in our Job Targeting Program, industrial development ac- tivities, and for a County -wide Economic Development Study. In order to imple- ment the aforementioned activities, additional funds are required. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: SECTION I: The sum of $71,158.00 is hereby appropriated for the program year starting October 1, 1981 from the Economic Development Grants Program.
