In light of the need to
crackdown on truck violators, I have introduced a totally
separate bill which -just pertains to trucks.
My bill incorporates the definition of the word "truck" as
used in the state's "Uniform Act Regulating Traffic on
Highways "; and utilizes a restriction based on gross vehicle
weight only, This is similar to the categories established
for license fees established by the state for such trucks.
I am also working on a bill which will be introduced at a
later date, which would allow the city to place an immobilizing
devise on illegally parked motor vehicles. My present
bill, however, calls for a $50.00 ticket for the first offense,
and $100.00 tickets for all subsequent offenses.
All trucks over 11,000 pounds when empty, whether commercial
or non - commercial, would be governed by the restricted
parking provision if passed.
There is a continuing need for such a law, and I seek your
assistance .n.its passage.
RCD /vls
Sincerely,
Richard C. Dombrowski
Councilman -at -Large
