ORDINANCE NO. ( K ,- &D AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68, AS AMENDED, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, (Chapter 21, Municipal Code), (Edge - water Place, South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana). STATEMENT OF PURPOSES AND INTENT. TO ESTABLISH an Historic Preservation District, to be known as the Edgewater Place Historic District, with such uses as permitted in Section 21 -36.1 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, such District having been recommended by the Historic Preservation Commis- sion of South Bend and St. Joseph County, for the purpose of pre- serving the architectural, historical, and cultural significance and educational value of the described area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana as follows: SE.CTI.ON 1. Ordinance No. 4990 -68, as amended, which ordinance is commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of South Bend,lndiana, be and the same hereby is amended in order that the zoning classifi- cation of the following described real estate in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, State of I.ndi.ana: West fraction of the southeast quarter (4) of Section 12, Township 37, north of Range 2 East, Portage Township, City of South Bend, being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the north curb line of Monroe Street and the west curb line of Lincolnway East, thence northeast along the north curb of Monroe Street approximately 460 feet to the south line of the St. Joseph River, thence in a southeasterly direction along the south and southwest line of the St. Joseph River approximately 1500 feet to the north property line of the property owned by St. Joseph County for the George Cooper Memori- al Bridge, which is a point approximately 60 feet southeast of the southeast corner of Lot 11 in Harper Court Addition to the City of South Bend, thence approximately 50 feet southwest, thence 30 feet west, thence southwest approximately 300 feet to the west curb of Lincolnway East, thence approximately 1340 feet to the place of beginning. Including but not limited to Lots 2 through g of Fuerbringer`s Addition; Lots 1 through 69, Edgewater Place Addition; Lots 1 through 11, Harper Court Addition; Lots 1 through 7 and a part of Lot 8 of Frantz` Addition, and a part of G.W. Souder Tract.
