The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine ORDINANCE NO. 7913 -88 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF THE PARKING GARAGE FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1989 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1989, INCLUDING ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS AND OBLIGATIONS AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT. This bill had third reading. Council Member Coleman made a motion to accept the amendments on file with the City Clerk, seconded by Council Member Niezgodski. The motion carried. Council Member Niezgodski made a motion to pass this bill, as amended, seconded by Council Member Zakrzewski. The bill passed by a roll call vote of six ayes and three nays (Council Members Duda, Soderberg, and Slavinskas.) UNFINISHED BUSINESS Mayor Joseph Kernan thanked the Council for their cooperation on the budget. He indicated they planned to work on a long range operating balance. NEW BLESS Phil Frost, Director of the Zoo, gave a brief presentation on the zoo, and showed the new TV advertisement. PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR Paul Rohleder, 722 Harrison, spoke regarding retail space in the downtown. There being no further business to come before the Council, unfinished or new, Council Member Soderberg made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Coleman.
