budget $822,202. Council Member Zakrzewski made a motion to pass this bill, as <br />amended, seconded by Council Member Voorde. The bill passed by a roll call vote of <br />eight ayes and one nay (Council Member Soderberg.) <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7913 -88 AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES AND FIXING THE RATE OF <br />TAXATION NECESSARY FEXPENSES UOFOTHE CIVILS CITY ROFESOUTH BEND FOR <br />E <br />FOR <br />THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1989. <br />This bill had third <br />seconded by Council <br />ayes. <br />reading. Council Member Luecke made a motion to pass this bill, <br />Member Niezgodski. The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7913 -88 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF THE PARKING GARAGE FUND OF <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR <br />BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1989 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1989, <br />INCLUDING ALL OUTSTANDING CLAIMS AND OBLIGATIONS AND <br />FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT. <br />This bill had third reading. Council Member Coleman made a motion to accept the <br />amendments on file with the City Clerk, seconded by Council Member Niezgodski. The <br />motion carried. Council Member Niezgodski made a motion to pass this bill, as <br />amended, seconded by Council Member Zakrzewski. The bill passed by a roll call vote <br />of six ayes and three nays (Council Members Duda, Soderberg, and Slavinskas.) <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Mayor Joseph Kernan thanked the Council for their cooperation on the budget. He <br />indicated they planned to work on a long range operating balance. <br />NEW BLESS <br />Phil Frost, Director of the Zoo, gave a brief presentation on the zoo, and showed <br />the new TV advertisement. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR <br />Paul Rohleder, 722 Harrison, spoke regarding retail space in the downtown. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, unfinished or new, <br />Council Member Soderberg made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member <br />Coleman.
