East Res. <br />* Funds are subject to the City Controller's determination of availability; if funds are unavailable, as solely determined by the City Controller, then the <br />authorization of the expenditure of such funds shall be void and of no effect. <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: Budget Request for $550,000 for repair of the elevator at the Main Wayne Parking <br />Garage located at 119 W Wayne St. <br />SPECIFICS: On June 20, 2024, the Redevelopment Commission closed on the property commonly known as the <br />Main Wayne Parking Garage located at 119 W Wayne St with the desire of opening it has a full public parking <br />garage. Staff of both Venues Parks and the Arts and the RDC have been going through the process of getting the <br />garage ready for public parking. This included updating signage, computer systems and internet connectivity, as <br />well as new gate equipment. The intention is the garage will operate similar to the other three downtown public <br />parking garages. <br />As the south portion of downtown continues to be redeveloped and new buildings are constructed on existing <br />parking lots, the need for public parking will grow. <br />The elevator in the building currently needs reconstructed and repaired.
