This bill had second reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to amend <br />bill, as amended in the Committee of the Whole, seconded by Council Member <br />- Puzzello. The motion carried. Council Member Taylor made a motion to pass <br />bill, as amended, seconded by Council Member Beck. The motion carried on a <br />call vote of eight ayes. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7800 -87 <br />the <br />the <br />roll <br />AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED <br />PROPERTY: EMBELL CT. RUNNING FROM LASALLE STREET TO <br />THE FIRST INTERSECTING EAST -WEST ALLEY. <br />This bill had second reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to pass this <br />bill, seconded by Council Member Braboy. The bill passed by a roll call vote of <br />eight ayes. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7801 -87 <br />AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE THE FOLLOWING PROPERTY: THE 1ST <br />NORTH -SOUTH ALLEY WEST OF ST. Council Member Taylor made a motion to pass this <br />bill, seconded by Council Member Beck. The bill passed by a roll call vote of eight <br />ayes. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1534 -87 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND APPROVING THE ISSUANCE OF A SCRAP METAL /JUNK <br />DEALERS /TRANSFER STATIONS LICENSE FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR <br />1987. <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend recognizes the <br />contributions that operations such as junk /scrap and recycling dealers make to the <br />community; and the Council further realizes that such operations must be reasonably <br />regulated in order to minimize any environmental or aesthetic nuisances which may be <br />created by the operations of scrap /junk /and recycling dealers within the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend has enacted reasonable <br />rules and regulations with regard to the issuance of licenses and the operations of <br />the scrap /junk/ and recycling dealers; <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works, at its meeting held on September 22, 1987, <br />recommended the issuance of a license for the below listed applicant in the City of <br />South Bend by appropriate action of the Common Council. <br />
