<br />WHEREAS, IntraComp Inc., project will benefit the local economy, specifically by
<br />increasing its present staff level of 22 employees to 52 employees, for a total of
<br />30 new jobs; and
<br />WHEREAS, IntraComp Inc., is located in the South Bend area, but their present
<br />leased facility does not provide the firm with the space for expansion. In an
<br />effort to retain the existing business and facilitate the firm's expansion, a site
<br />has been tentatively selected that is located in Phase IV of the Industrial
<br />Foundation's Airport Industrial Park; and
<br />WHEREAS, the site will require various site improvements including water, sewer,
<br />and road work. The receipt of a State Industrial Development Grant will enable the
<br />City of South Bend to finance this project with a fifty percent (50a) match of that
<br />cost, not to exceed $75,000., for the purpose of providing IntraComp adequate water,
<br />sewer, and access to their property.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
<br />Indiana, as follows:
<br />SECTION I. The Council hereby establishes the authority of the Mayor of the
<br />City of South Bend to submit a State Industrial Development Grant application to the
<br />Indiana Department of Commerce for the IntraComp project.
<br />SECTION II. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon
<br />passage by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and approval by
<br />the Mayor.

<br />A public hearing was held on the resolution at this time. Sherrie Shane, Department
<br />of Economic Development, indicated IntraComp is located in the South Bend area,
<br />however, their present facility does not provide space for expansion. She indicated
<br />a site in the Industrial Foundation's Airport Industrial Park has been selected, and
<br />the company has indicated it will make a capital investment of approximately
<br />$850,000 and will create thirty full -time jobs within two years. She indicated this
<br />grant of $75,000 will be matched locally with $37,500 coming from the LRSF, and
<br />$37,500 coming from the Industrial Foundation. She indicated these proceeds will be
<br />used to construct an access road and to extend water and sewer lines to the project
<br />site. Council Member Barcome made a motion to adopt this resolution, seconded by
<br />Council Member Paszek. The resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of nine ayes.
