REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY a23 <br />Council Member Zakrzewski made a motion to continue public hearing on this bill <br />until March 9, and refer it back to the Public Safety Committee, seconded by Council <br />Member Barcome. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 13 -87 A BILL OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS OUTLINING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 8 OF THE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, ENTITLED CITY OFFICERS <br />AND EMPLOYEES. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Kathy Cekanski- Farrand, <br />Council attorney, made the presentation for the bill. She indicated this bill would <br />amend three sections of the City code addressing sick leave, vacations and <br />holidays. She indicated this bill sets forth language consistent with the agreement <br />reached by the City Wage Negotiating Team in each of these areas. Council Member <br />Beck made a motion to recommend this bill to the Council favorable, seconded by <br />Council Member Barcome. The motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Council <br />Member Taylor made a motion to rise and report to the Council, seconded by Council <br />Member Beck. The motion carried. <br />ATTEST: <br />City Clerk <br />REGULAR MEETING RECONVENED <br />ATTEST: <br />�2' d , - �' �'' e& <br />rman <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend reconvened in the <br />Council Chambers on the fourth floor of the County -City Building at p.m. Council <br />President Serge presiding and nine members present. <br />BILLS, SECOND READING <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7729 -87 AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED <br />PROPERTY: THE FIRST EAST -WEST ALLEY SOUTH OF MONROE <br />STREET, RUNNING EAST FROM MAIN STREET, FOR A DISTANCE <br />OF APPROXIMATELY 330 FEET TO MICHIGAN STREET, EXCEPTING <br />THE RIGHT -OF -WAY OF THE INTERSECTION NORTH -SOUTH ALLEY. <br />This bill had second reading. Council Member Zakrzewski made a motion to pass this <br />bill, seconded by Council Member Barcome. The bill passed by a roll call vote of <br />nine ayes. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7730 -87 AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING $102,997.00 AMONG VARIOUS <br />ACCOUNTS WITHIN THE DIVISION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. <br />This bill had second reading. Council Member Puzzello made a motion to pass this <br />bill, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The bill passed by a roll call vote of <br />nine ayes. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7732 -87 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS OUTLINING <br />CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 8 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, ENTITLED CITY OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES. <br />This bill had second reading. The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine <br />ayes. <br />RESOLUTIONS <br />Council Member Beck made a motion to continue Resolution Nos. 87 -8, 12, 13 and 17, <br />until March 9, seconded by Council Member Zakrzewski. The motion carried. <br />iRESOLUTION NO. 1471 -87 <br />A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE ADOPTION OF A DECLARATORY <br />RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, COMMONLY KNOWN AS 2901 SOUTH MAIN TO BE AN <br />ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREA FOR PURPOSES OF PERSONAL <br />PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT. <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend has adopted a Declaratory <br />Resolution designating certain areas within the City as Economic Revitalization <br />Areas for purpose of tax abatement consideration; and <br />WHEREAS, a Declaratory Resolution designated the area commonly known as 2901 S. <br />and more particularly described by a line drawn as follows: <br />Lots 84 through 96, both inclusive, Oakside 3rd Addition to the city of South <br />Bend. <br />s an Economic Revitalization Area; and <br />
