1575 <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 12, 1993 <br />REAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT FOR GREATER SOUTH BEND DEVELOPMENT <br />COMPANY. <br />Due to the fact that there was no presenter, Council Member Coleman made a motion to <br />continue this bill until July 26, seconded by Council Member Duda. The motion <br />carried. <br />BILLS, FIRST READING <br />BILL NO. 58 -93 A BILL OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 2 OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Slavinskas made a motion to accept the <br />substitute bill on file with the City Clerk, seconded by Council Member Duda. The <br />motion carried. Council Member Coleman made a motion to set this bill for public <br />hearing and third reading on July 26, and refer it to the Personnel and Finance <br />seconded by Council Member Duda. The motion carried. <br />Council Member Puzzello made a motion to suspend the rules and have first reading on <br />bill nos. 59 and 60 -93, seconded by Council Member Coleman. The motion carried on a <br />roll call vote of nine ayes. <br />BILL NO. 59 -93 A BILL FIXING THE ANNUAL PAY AND MONETARY FRINGE BENEFITS OF <br />FIREFIGHTERS OF THE SOUTH BEND FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR THE CALENDAR <br />YEARS 1994, 1995, AND 1996. <br />Council Member Puzzello made a motion to set this bill for public hearing and third <br />reading on July 26, and refer it to the Personnel & Finance Committee, seconded by <br />Council Member Coleman. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 60 -93 A BILL FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES AND WAGES OF APPOINTED OFFICERS <br />AND NON - BARGAINING EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />FOR THE CALENDAR YEARS 1994 AND 1995. <br />Council Member Puzzello made a motion to set this bill for public hearing and third <br />reading on July 26, and refer it to the Personnel & Finance Committee, seconded by <br />Council Member Coleman. The motion carried. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Council Member Coleman made a motion to strike Bill No. 38 -93 a rezoning for 1432 <br />South Bend Ave., seconded by Council Member Puzzello. The motion carried. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR <br />Pat Bryan, 2706 Wall, spoke regarding the expansion of east of the zoo entrance is <br />the only area where the disabled can enjoy the park. <br />Ernest Dickson, 3706 Wall, asked that the Park Board meet in a building accessible to <br />the disabled. <br />Gene Oakly, 2614 York Road, spoke regarding the closing of Calvert. Council Member <br />Slavinskas made a motion to give Mr. oakly an additional three minutes. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council unfinished or new, Council <br />Member Coleman made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Ladewski.
